Summer Field Study in Thailand and Cambodia

Study Abroad with the University of Mary Washington

 

The Thailand Summer Study program is a three week program with academic credit offered by the University of Mary Washington.

Students will participate in an intensive, experiential introduction to the culture, history, and important landmarks and historical sites of Thailand. Focus will be on learning firsthand the ideas and principles of Buddhist thought, its development in Southeast Asia, and its contemporary culture and practices. Participants will witness both urban and village lifestyles during a three week field tour, visit important historical sites and landmarks, temples, nature preserves, and will learn about meditation practices.

The program is open to students in U.S. and Canadian colleges and universities. There are no prerequisites, and students in any major or year of study are eligible to apply. Student will register for either 3 or 6 credits through the University of Mary Washington. The program is limited to a maximum of 15 students.
